CAIRN – Protection and Comfort in Every Situation Since 1938

The story of CAIRN began in 1938 in France when Albert Baudet started crafting gloves and clothing in his workshops in Croix-Rousse, Lyon. His creations provided warmth, comfort, and protection. His dedication and craftsmanship quickly brought the company recognition, even in the Alps.

Over the decades, CAIRN has grown and evolved into a specialist in high-quality protective gear for all seasons and sports. Constant innovation and attentiveness to user needs have helped create products that combine safety, comfort, and technical excellence.

Key Milestones on Our Journey

1990 – An expedition to Nepal highlighted the need for improved equipment. In extreme conditions, an athlete’s performance and safety depend on properly adapted gear. This realization gave birth to CAIRN.
1994 – The company focused on ski equipment, launching high-performance ski helmets and goggles to provide maximum protection and enjoyment in the mountains.
2014 – The product range expanded to include ski gloves, hats, and accessories, offering comprehensive protection.
2018 – As a leader in winter sports protection, CAIRN entered the cycling equipment market, applying its mountain sports expertise to the development of bike helmets and accessories.

Our Commitments

In today’s world, where environmental awareness is more important than ever, CAIRN is committed to sustainable solutions. We are increasingly using recycled and recyclable materials to reduce our environmental footprint and contribute to the fight against plastic pollution.

Packaging – In our Winter 2025 collection, 80% of the packaging will be made from recycled cardboard, helping to reduce plastic waste and protect natural ecosystems.
Raw Materials – We are progressively adopting materials that support circular economy principles, including recycled fibers in gloves, hats, and accessories to help reduce carbon emissions.
